The NHL regular season has just about completed and there is a light schedule for April 5. Columbus versus New York Rangers, Dallas versus Chicago and Los Angeles versus Anaheim will be preview. Note that all information is for games played through April 1.
Columbus Blue Jackets versus New York Rangers
Columbus enters play with a 45-30-4 record and have won two of three meetings this season between the two teams. The Rangers are 31-35-13 and eliminated from playoff consideration. Both teams are trending well, “burning hot” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Blue Jackets have a +25 to +5 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator. Both teams are relatively stable at +7 and +8 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Avoid betting the “over/under” , as the teams are on opposite sides of the line according to the Totals Predictor. As for the game itself, look for the Blue Jackets to earn a win, increasing momentum heading into the playoffs.
Dallas Stars versus Chicago Blackhawks
Dallas is still fighting for a playoff berth with a 41-31-7 record, while the Blackhawks are last in the Central Division, hovering around the .500 mark. Dallas has a +22 to +9 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average down” versus “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Neither team ranks particularly high on the Team Volatility Oscillator, so favorite/underdog status wont mean as mean in this one. Chicago has taken two of the first three meetings between the teams this season. The best bet on this one is for the “under” and for the Stars to earn a road win and increase their playoff chances.
Los Angeles Kings versus Anaheim Ducks
The bottom two teams in the Pacific Division face off with the Kings firmly entrenched in the basement. Los Angeles has won all three meetings between the teams this season and are “average up” versus “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Anaheim has a +7 to +3 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator, while the Kings are the more stable team at +12 versus +7. If looking at the “over/under”, the Kings games have been trending “over”, while the Ducks games have been trending “under”. Look for the Ducks to take this one to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Kings.
