The UEFA Champions League 2019-20 is set as the group stage was officially drawn this past week. After two months of qualifying for the minnows of European club football, they will now join the big boys of European soccer for the group stage.

Last season’s Champions League winners, Liverpool, go into the new season ready to defend their title. However, the Reds will have plenty of challengers gunning for them and it won’t be easy for Liverpool to qualify for the UEFA Champions League 2019-20 final this time around.

What is the UEFA Champions League 2019-20?

The UEFA Champions League is the annual tournament that sees the best of the best play in a midweek competition against each other on the European continent. Thirty-two teams are divided into eight groups of four teams. Each team plays a home and away match against the others in their group with the top two advancing to the round of 16. From there, each team plays a home and away series until the final.

Who are the favorites to win the UEFA Champions League 2019-20?

Liverpool are the reigning cupholders but head into the competition with the third-best odds. The Reds have qualified for two straight Champions League Finals, can they make it a third?

Group of Death

Every season sees one group of death in the group stage of the tournament. These groups tend to have three to four teams capable of progressing to the knockout stage. Last season, Liverpool were in a group of death against PSG and Napoli and needed a dramatic final group stage win against Napoli to just make the elimination round. From there, Liverpool were unstoppable although they did need an amazing come back against Barcelona to make the final.

The UEFA Champions League 2019-20 has one group of death this term and it is Group F.

Barcelona, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, and Slavia Prague make up the group of death and it will be difficult for any of the teams to go through the group undefeated. Slavia Prague will be the whipping boys of the group while the other three will be able to take points off each other.

Group H will be a wide-open group as laster season’s Europa League winners Chelsea will play against France’s Lille, Spain’s Valencia, and the Netherlands’ Ajax. On paper, any of the four teams can go through to the elimination round.

Only three NCAA teams have won the National Championship since the current format was created. The modern National Championship Game was drafted in to play in 2014 with Ohio State winning the inaugural game.

Since then, Alabama and Clemson have split the last four NCAA National titles.

Who has the toughest schedule in the NCAA Football 2019 season?

Bleacher Report ranked the top 10 most difficult schedules in the NCAA football season. Of the top six teams in terms of sportsbook odds, only the Michigan Wolverines have one of the 10 most difficult schedules.

Michigan’s schedule sees them play: Middle Tennessee, Army, BYE, at Wisconsin, Rutgers, Iowa, at Illinois, at Penn State, Notre Dame, at Maryland, BYE, Michigan State, at Indiana, Ohio State

It is a difficult schedule especially with the final three games against MSU, Indiana, and Ohio State.

The Florida Gators, who are considered an outside chance at winning the National Championship also have one of the top 10 most difficult schedules.

Florida’s schedule sees them play: Miami (in Orlando), Tennessee-Martin, at Kentucky, Tennessee, Towson, Auburn, at LSU, at South Carolina, BYE, vs. Georgia (in Jacksonville), Vanderbilt, at Missouri, BYE, Florida State

Still, outside of Michigan, the top six teams in bookies’ odds do not have schedules ranked as top 10 most difficult. Due to this, you can expect at least one or two of the teams with the best futures odds to be in the NCAA Championship Playoffs.

Entering the final month of the Major League Baseball season and each series is crucial to the playoff hopes of many teams. Several key matchups are in store for the weekend, with the Mets and Phillies NL East battle headlining the list.

New York Mets versus Philadelphia Phillies

In this NL East rivalry, the third-place Phillies host the fourth-place Mets. Both teams are battling for the second wild-card playoff spot. The Mets come in having lost their last three and 6-4 over their last ten. The Phillies are also 6-4 during that period and are “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Mets hold a +16 to +14 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator and the teams are both equally stable according to the Team Volatility Oscillator. The Totals Predictor indicates that betting “under” is the safe play for games in this series. Of the scheduled starting pitchers, Jason Vargas (+1921) and Aaron Nola (+504) are the best bets for the Phillies according to the Pitcher Profit Oscillator. Marcuse Stroman at -1193 is the worst bets of the weekend, pitching for the Mets on Sunday. Expect the Phillies to control the Mets this weekend, taking two of three to put a little separation between them in the division.

Milwaukee Brewers versus Chicago Cubs

Both teams are fighting in the NL Central and also in the wild card race and are deadlocked at +17 on the Power Ranking Indicator. Neither team is playing well lately, 5-5 over their last ten and in the midst of losing streaks. If considering betting the “over/under” in games in this series, go with the under as both teams are trending on that side of the line. The Cubs are the more stable team at +19 to +5, indicating they are performing more consistently with their favorite/underdog status. The best pitching matchup is Zach Davies versus Cole Hamels on Saturday. Both are showing a great profit on the Pitcher Profit Oscillator. Yu Darvish has been the worst bet among the schedules starters, at -1750. The Cubs should have some advantage of playing at home and will likely escape with the series win.

Los Angeles Dodgers versus Arizona DIamondbacks

Despite going 5-5 over their last ten, the Dodgers maintain the best record in the league. They hold a +27 to +12 advantage over the third-place Diamondbacks on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average down” versus “ice cold up” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Among the most stable teams in the league, the Dodgers very consistently performing according to their favorite/underdog status. Alex Young of the Diamondbacks has a slight edge over Dustin May in Sunday’s game according to the Pitcher Profit Oscillator, while Clayton Kershaw (+1382) is an extremely good bet over Robbie Ray (-1583) on Saturday. Both teams are trending under the line so betting the “under” is a good play for games in this series. The Dodgers should win at least two of three this weekend.

Boston Red Sox versus Los Angeles Angels

In this AL East versus AL West battle, the third-place Red Sox take on the fourth-place Angels. The Red Sox are 7-3 over their last ten but last their last game and are “average down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. They hold a +21 to +6 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator over the Angels, who are “dead” having lost their last five. Both teams are moderately stable and betting the over/under is not wise as teams are trending on opposite sides of the line. None of the scheduled starting pitchers for the Angels have been good bets, but Brian Johnson (+702) and Rick Porcello (+1358) have been very solid bets for the Red Sox. Boston has a better road record than the Angels have at home and should carry over to a series win.

Oakland A’s versus New York Yankees

The A’s sit in second place in the AL West and face the Yankees, first in the AL East. Both teams are “average” status at the moment, although the A’s are 7-3 over their last ten games. The Yankees have a +29 to +22 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator and are among the most stable teams at +33 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. The Totals Predictor indicates that betting the “under” is the best play for games in this series. Of the scheduled starting pitchers, Homers Bailey is the worst bet of the weekend, at -2976 for the A’s on Saturday. Domingo German (+845) and JA Happ (+861) are solid bets for the Yankees. Mike Fiers is the best bet for the A’s, pitching Sunday with a +2176 profit. The Yankees should be able to take two of three in the series.

The 2019 NFL regular season is inching closer with kickoff just a few weeks away. Still, there are preseason games to play and it is a great time to wager on NFL football.

Not only do you get a chance to see the NFL’s teams in action, but you get to wager on extra football games. This weekend we head into week 4 of the NFL preseason. Six games will take place on Friday night and ZCode System has highlighted two games for you to wager on with our predictions.

Thursday, August 22

New York Giants vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The New York Giants head into preseason week 4 with a 2-0 preseason record. The G Men have beaten the New York Jets and Chicago Bears in preseason as they get ready for the 2019 NFL season. Both Giants’ preseason games saw over 44.5 points.

Cincinnati Bengals are 1-1 with a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and win over the Washington Redskins. The Bengals have seen over 35.5 points in both of their preseason games. The Bengals’ defence allowed Kansas City to score 38 points in their first preseason game.

The Giants average 31.5 points per preseason game. Against the Bears, Giants’ quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 161 yards and a touchdown. Eli Manning made just four pass attempts and threw for a touchdown. But does Jones’ performance put Manning on the hot seat? Seems like it is time for the Giants to replace him to us.

Ryan Finley performed well for the Bengals against the Redskins, however, starting QB Andy Dalton was terrible. Dalton completed just five of nine passes and tossed an interception. Will Dalton get many reps? The Giants played well under Jones and should do so once more on Thursday night. Expect the Giants to win and score over 31.5 points once more.

Winner: New York Giants

Carolina Panthers vs. New England Patriots

The Super Bowl winners are 2-0 in preseason with two big wins over the Detriot Lions (31-3) and Tennessee Titans (22-17). The Pats are burning high and against the Titans, quarterback Jarrett Stidham threw for 193 yards and one touchdown.

Will Tom Brady play against the Carolina Panthers? That is the big question as the Pats go into game three of the preseason. Bill Belichick hasn’t said whether Brady will play or not. But does he really need to play in game three of preseason? Probably not.

The Panthers are coming off of a loss to the Buffalo Bills in game two of the preseason. Quarterback Will Grier had most of the passing opportunities for the Panthers as he threw for 75 yards and an interception while completing 10 of 19 passes.

Cam Newton is set to play against New England, but it is unlikely he plays more than one or two series. The Panthers are still considering who will be Newton’s back-up, so there will be more interest in the second- and third-string signal-callers.

New England should continue their great play in preseason game three. Both Pats’ games this preseason have seen over 33.5 total points. Meanwhile, Carolina’s have seen over 35.5 points per game.

Expect a New England win and points to be scored by both teams.

Winner: New England Patroits

The MLB season is down to the final six weeks and numerous teams are still in the wild card hunt. The push for the playoffs continues as the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers highlight an excellent weekend of matchups.

New York Yankees versus Los Angeles Dodgers

The top two teams in the league face off in what could be a World Series preview. Neither team has been spectacular lately, with the Yankees at “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator versus “average down” for the Dodgers. New York holds a +29 to +26 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator. The teams are playing in high scoring games, so betting the “over” is a safe play this weekend. Both teams rank high in stability, meaning they are consistently performing according to their favorite/underdog status. Over the scheduled starting pitchers, Domingo German is the best bet for the Yankees according to the Pitcher Profit Oscillator and Clayton Kershaw (+1452) and Hyun-Jin Ryu (+780) are both excellent bets for the Dodgers. With a 48-16 home record, the Dodgers have an edge. Look for the Dodgers to win a hard-fought series, two games to one.

Washington Nationals versus Chicago Cubs

The Nationals enter in second place in the NL East and the Cubs are second in the NL Central. Washington is “burning hot” after a 7-3 stretch, while the Cubs are 4-6 over their last ten and “average up”. The Nationals hold a +22 to +15 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator and are the more stable team at +26 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Consider better the “over” for games in this series as both teams are trending over the line on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Of the pitching matchups, Jon Lester has a huge profit advantage over Anibal Sanchez and both Cole Hamels and Stephen Strasburg are in the green for Sunday’s game. I expect the Cubs to take care of business at home, finding a way to win two games this weekend.

Arizona Diamondbacks versus Milwaukee Brewers

The Diamondbacks and Brewers enter third in their respective divisions and are both struggling. Arizona is “ice cold up” versus “ice cold down” for Milwaukee. The Brewers have a narrow +11 to +10 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator and neither team has demonstrated great stability. If considering betting the “over/under”, best to avoid as the teams are trending on opposite sides of the line. Taylor Clarke is the most profitable scheduled starter for Arizona at +519. Jordan Lyles and Chase Anderson are well into the red for the Brewers, but Zach Davies at +1436 is an excellent pick on Sunday. Milwaukee is a solid ten games over .500 at home this season and should have an edge. The pick is for the Brewers to win two of three.

Colorado Rockies versus St. Louis Cardinals

The Rockies come into play last in the NL West facing the Cardinals, who are the top team in the NL Central. The Cardinals have won their last two, are “average up” and 8-2 over their last ten. Colorado is 5-5 over their last ten and coming off a loss. St. Louis has a +18 to +14 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator, but have been relatively unstable at +7 compared to +28 for Colorado. Being that the Rockies will be road underdogs, this is more reason to lean towards the Cardinals. Kyle Freeland is the best bet for the Rockies at +1541 on the Pitcher Profit Oscillator. He takes the mound Sunday versus Michael Wacha. Dakota Hudson is the most profitable for the Cardinals at +734. The Cardinals could have a tough time sweeping, but are the betting favorites to take the series.

Los Angeles Angels versus Houston Astros

In this AL West showdown, the third-place Angels take on the first-place Astros. Houston has won their last two, but just 4-6 over their last ten. They hold a +20 to +15 edge over the Angels on the Power Ranking Indicator and “average up” versus “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Do your homework and pick specific games. Once you have narrowed down your games, figure out which bet you want to make. Is it moneyline, total points, or something else? Your research should help you figure out the bet you want to make and how much you want to wager.

The key here is not to force a bet. If there is only one game that looks appealing and you have an edge with, then that is the only game you should wager on. Don’t bet on four games just to bet. Find an edge and make your bet. If you only find one quality bet, make it.

2. Shop around

Do you want to make money on NFL betting in 2019? Then don’t be afraid to shop around. Use an odds betting website that collates odds from various sportsbooks. This gives you the chance to shop around and find the best odds for the game you want to wager on.

So, once you have determined which game you want to bet on and the wager you would like to make, shop around for the best odds before placing it.

3. Keep your emotions in check

This goes beyond betting on your favorite team and letting your biases get the best of you. Losses happen and they shouldn’t affect the way you bet. Stick with your strategy and don’t let one or two losses make you change it.

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur meet in one of the biggest matches of the Premier League’s early stages. Both teams have their eyes on the Premier League title, but Spurs are a long shot to win the championship compared to Manchester City.

Manchester City have won five of their last six matches they have played against Tottenham Hotspur. Mauricio Pochettino’s team’s only win over Manchester City came in the Champions League last season at home in London.

Spurs will be without midfielder Dele Alli due to injury and striker Heung Min-Son due to suspension. The subtraction of the two attackers from Tottenham Hotspur’s ability to challenge Manchester City in the final third with hurt them. Can they upset Manchester City?

The Cityzens should get the home win by a one-goal margin.

Winner: Manchester City

Southampton vs. Liverpool

Liverpool are fresh off of their UEFA Super Cup victory on Wednesday night over Chelsea. The Reds could suffer from fatigue at Southampton.

The Saints lost last weekend to Burnley away, 3-0. It was a result that went against the run of play for the most part.

Last season, Liverpool outscored Southampton 6-1 over the course of two matches. At Southampton, Liverpool had to come from behind to defeat the Saints, 3-1. Liverpool needed two goals in the final 10 minutes to pick up the win.

Liverpool’s biggest issue will be fatigue. Still, Jurgen Klopp has plenty of attacking talent to defeat Southampton away. The Reds are bookies’ second-favorite to win the Premier League title. A poor result could prevent Liverpool from challenging Manchester City.

Liverpool will be without goalkeeper Alisson Becker due to a calf injury.

Winner: Liverpool

Monday, August 19

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Manchester United

Monday night sees Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Manchester United at Molineaux. Wolves clashed with Manchester United three times last season winning twice and drawing in the third match.

Both matches they played last season at Molineaux ended in 2-1 scorelines. Although Manchester United are favored, Wolverhampton Wanderers shouldn’t be taken lightly. Wolves took four points from six possible in the Premier League last term.

Manchester United won 4-0 last weekend against Chelsea. However, that scoreline was flattering. Their match on Monday night will show us just how good Manchester United truly are. Expect the two sides to finish in a score draw.

Result: Draw

The final quarter of the MLB season is upon us and the pennant races are heating up. First-place teams battle in both leagues with the Yankees/Indians and Dodgers/Braves headlining weekend play.

Cleveland Indians versus New York Yankees

AL Central leading Indians head to New York to take on the AL East leading Yankees . The Yankees come in “average up” versus “burning hot” and the Indians hold a +27 to +25 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator. Both teams have been quite stable according to the Team Volatility Oscillator, so consider their favorite/underdog status before betting. The teams are trending on opposite sides of the line on the Totals Predictor, but there is a slight lean to better the “under”. Of the scheduled starting pitchers for Cleveland, Zach Plesac is the more profitable bet at +683 on the Pitcher Profit Oscillator, while Domingo German is at +768 for the Yankees. This is a battle that could go either way, but give a slight edge to the Yankees at home for a series win.

Los Angeles Dodgers versus Atlanta Braves

The top two teams in the NL face off in this weekend series. The Dodgers are “burning hot”, having won eight of their last ten. The Braves are “average up” having gone 5-5 over their last ten. Los Angeles holds a +28 to +20 advantage on the Power Ranking Indicator. The Dodgers are also among the most stable teams in the league at +38 on the Team Volatility Oscillator. Best to avoid the over/under in this series as the teams are trending on opposite sides of the line. Clayton Kershaw and Hyun-Jin Ryu are excellent bets for the Dodgers this weekend, while Mike Soroka for the Braves has a nearly +2000 advantage of Kenta Maeda in Friday’s game. Look for the Dodgers to earn a road series win, two games to one.

San Diego Padres versus Philadelphia Phillies

Two fourth-place teams square off in Philadelphia as the Phillies take on the Padres. San Diego is “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator having won five of their last ten. They hold a +10 to +9 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator over an “ice cold down” Phillies team that is 3-7 over their last ten. Philadelphia has been a much more stable team, consistently performing as their favorite/underdog status indicates. Jason Vargas is the most profitable of the Phillies pitchers this weekend at +1831, while his counterpart Joey Lucchesi is the worst at -933. Look for the Phillies to take care of home field and get back on track with a series win.

Houston Astros versus Oakland A’s

In this AL West battle, the first-place Astros head to Oakland to face the second-place A’s. The Astors are “burning hot down” with an 8-2 mark over their last ten. They have a +29 to +21 edge on the Power Ranking Indicator. Oakland is 6-4 over their last ten and “average” status. The Astros are extremely consistently performing according to their favorite/underdog status. If considering the over/under, the Totals Predictor is leaning towards the under. Zach Greinke and Gerrit Cole are extremely profitable and solid bets for the Astros this weekend. The A’s should give the Astros a strong battle, but expect Houston to take two of three games on the road to widen their divisional lead.

San Francisco Giants versus Arizona Diamondbacks

Two NL West teams battle to stay in wild card contention. The Giants are 4-6 over their last ten game and “ice cold up” on the Team Strength Oscillator. The Diamondbacks are 6-4 over their last ten and “average down” status. Arizona holds a slim edge of +14 to +12 on the Power Ranking Indicator. Best to avoid the “over/under” in this series since the teams are playing in games trending on opposite sides of the line. The worst bet for the weekend is the Giants on Friday as scheduled starter Jeff Samardzija is -3761 on the Pitcher Profit Oscillator. Arizona is under .500 at home and the Giants are above .500 on the road. I expect a road series win, two game to one, for the Giants.

The Premier League 2019-20 season kicks off this weekend with a tasty clash between Manchester United and Chelsea. Both clubs have a lot to prove this season as they fight for the league championship.

With the season kicking off on Friday and going into Sunday, we take a look at some of the big matches on tap for football fans.

Saturday, August 10

West Ham vs. Manchester City

Reigning champions Manchester City could have a tricky fixture to open the Premier League season. The Cityzens must go away to West Ham and play a team that has been reshaped in attack.

Despite the challenge, Manchester City will be up to the task. Pep Guardiola’s team won the first piece of silverware up for grabs this season last weekend. Manchester City defeated Liverpool for the Community Shield on penalties. Still, West Ham may not go quietly.

The last two times Manchester City went to London to play West Ham, they scored four goals both times. Can they do it again? I think this could be a bigger win for Manchester City than the 2-1 ZCode System prediction.

Winner: Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Aston Villa

Don’t sleep on Aston Villa. Yes, they just got promoted from the EFL Championship, but they have a good manager in Dean Smith. The team has also been strengthened with new players to make it Premier League ready. Of course, changing so many players could backfire.

Tottenham are without a host of players due to injury. Dele Alli is their biggest omission and Heung-Min Son is suspended. Tottenham new boys Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon could make their debuts. Still, Aston Villa could take a point.

On opening day, I fancy Aston Villa to get a draw away. It won’t be easy, but Tottenham could play below expectations to open the season. I agree with ZCode System’s bold prediction of a 2-2 draw. To play on the safe side, a bet on both teams to score or over 1.5 goals or 2.5 goals may be wise.

Result: Draw

Sunday, August 11

Manchester United vs. Chelsea

This is a tough match to call. Manchester United did a poor job in the transfer market to fill their holes. Yes, they signed Harry Maguire for £80 million to play centre-back, but who will score their goals?

Equally, questions surround Chelsea, who have a new manager in ex-player Frank Lampard. He is untested as a manager, so who knows how Lampard will do in charge of a Premier League team.

These two teams drew their matches last season in the league. At Stamford Bridge, the match ended 2-2 while at Old Trafford it was 1-1.

If these teams do not draw, the home team typically wins. However, I don’t think one side will find the cutting edge and the fixture will end in a score draw. ZCode System predicts a 2-1 Manchester Unite win, but I think Chelsea can get something from the match.

An alternative bet is over 2.5 goals and both teams to score.

Result: Draw
